ProBooster Pack
ProBooster Pack is a source of temperature tolerant probiotic microorganisms, nutraceuticals and enzymes for use in blended and processed feeds. It can also be formulated for delivery via liquid feed supplies.
Probiotic Organisms
Optimization of rumen fermentation, including maximizing rumen fiber digestion and microbial synthesis while minimizing protein degradation, ammonia and methane production has been an important aim in probiotic research. Certain yeasts have been shown to stimulate increased lactate utilisation by rumen bacteria including the species Megasphaera elsdenii and Selenomonas ruminantium while others have been shown to have a positive effect on the activity of fibrolytic bacteria such as Bacteroides succinogenes and Ruminococcus albus. Strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae can improve rumen fermentation, thereby increasing animal production.
The strain of yeast in ProBooster Pack is Saccharomyces cerevisiae R404 which significantly stimulates the growth of populations of rumen bacteria responsible for fibre digestion and lactate utilization. ProBooster Pack provides for a more stable rumen pH and enhanced rates of fiber digestion which results in greater feed intake, better digestion and improved production.

ProBooster Pack also contains a viable cocktail of heat tolerant aerobic and facultative bacteria that produce powerful digestive enzymes to accelerate feed digestion in the rumen and lower down the digestive tract.
Nutraceutical Ingredients.
ProBooster Pack contains a highly specified form of mannan oligosaccharide (MOS) derived by fermentation from cell wall material.
MOS is principally used as an energy source by lactic acid producing bacteria, thereby stimulating their growth. Beneficial bacterial populations that are positively stimulated by MOS include:
- Bifidobacterium longum
- Bifidobacterium pullorum
- Lactobacillus casei
- Lactobacillus acidophilus
- Lactobacillus delbreukii
This results in a more stable intestinal microflora and optimizes nutrient absorption and feed conversion. Control of intestinal pathogens is a major concern in ensuring optimal animal health. Pathogenic bacteria cannot degrade mannan oligosaccharides and therefore cannot use MOS as an energy source. Feeding MOS tends to suppress the activity of important pathogenic populations such as:
- Escherichia coli
- Salmonella pullorum
- Salmonella typhimurium
- Clostridium botulinum
- Clostridium sporogenes
In addition these pathogenic bacteria have mannose specific lectins on their cell surface allowing the pathogens to become bound to MOS and block their colonization of the intestine and be washed out of the animal.
MOS has also been shown to result in an enhanced immuno-stimmulatory response.
Enzymes
ProBooster Pack also contains a concentrated cocktail of digestive enzymes including:
- Cellulases
- Hemicellulases
- Glucanase
- Proteases
- Lipases
...to augment those also produced by the Bacillus species to aid the digestion of feedstuffs.
Benefits of ProBooster Pack
- Use to optimize rumen and intestinal health and function, particularly during periods of stress.
- Feed continuously to prevent production challenges during and after:
Major Feed Changes - forage and/or grain mixes
Physical Stress - calving, hoof trimming, shipping or extreme weather
- Use as the maintenance option in a complete microbial program.
- A convenient and stable additive to use in manufactured feed.
Application
Include ProBooster Pack at the rate of 25g per head per day as a top dress to feed or mix 500g per ton of total mixed ration (TMR).
ProBooster Pack is available in 20 kg muti-walled bags. Store bags in a cool dry area and keep sealed in original packaging when not in use.
